Discusing and setting priorities for rural development....
Bagam Village Community Forum permits us to be actors, movers and shakers on issues of our own personal develpoment as individuals and that of Bagam Village in general. We are challenged to look beyond sorely our own self actualization goals as individuals. Our communal model empowers each and everyone to be a contributor in ideas and resources that permit us to advance as both individuals and a community. We would together come up with 4-7 community forum topics, hold discussions on these topics, prioritize and come up with an action plan to modestly implement in Bagam the topics of our discussions. These community building exercises will begin to develop in us the skills that we need to meet the more difficult challenges that we will confront as we endeavor to make Bagam a proud and fitting place to belong to, or to live or work.
Some problems that we have in Bagam readily come to my mind. The road system is one. Our road is purely seasonal and mostly passble in the dry season. A good all season road will permit villagers to be more able to transport their farm products to major cities and earn more revenues to feed their families and send thier children to school. We are urging all honorary Bagam Villagers as well indegenouss ones to participate in these forum topics so that together we can begin to evolve some plans to make the roads of Bagam an all season road system. Another problem we have in Bagam is the one of potable water. I think that this should be a separate forum topic. Other topics worthy of discussion are village health, and how we can improve it. Generating economic viability for the village and many others. Please feel free to contribute your ideas on forum discussion topics as we get along.
As earlier stated, this forum is for everyone especially those who may feel like they are Bagam at heart. So participation is opened to everyone.
We would like to encourage in our everyone in our global village to share our Bagam experience especially students, with new and innovative ideas on rural development, retirees in health care, community development, fishing, agriculture and sustainable development. We the Bagam people will welcome you in our homes and make your experience of village a valuable and great experience of a lifetime
